Listen, I realize this is home of the wingnuts here on Splinter, but no one is starting anything. This country has no appetite for a civil war, on either side. Life here is way too good, no matter how many riled up idiots on the fringes think otherwise.

As soon as the hot water and internet goes out everyone will immediately abandoned their desire for glorious violent upheaval.

Great story. He’s like a violent Penn & Teller. I hope he and you don’t suffer too much because of this story.

The guy is a hero for standing up for what he believes in, in the face of an oppressive government.  The fact that he beats up Tai Chi dorks is icing on the cake.

Why is this film different?

I’ve seen a lot of my friends hand wringing over this movie, saying we shouldn’t support it because it might encourage negative acts, and my response has always been “Yeah, but what about every Scorcese film?”

How much of “this film” is there if it mostly retreads another director’s work?

The director is a Scorsese fan, but not as good as Scorsese? Mind. Blown. I’m sure we’re all terribly impressed that a film critic is familiar with the films of perhaps the greatest director of all time, but a review of this film would have been nice. This reads like you’re trying to impress a girl at a bar.

Kind of like everyone else shitting on the most successful comedy series and the 2 most successful R rated comedies ever?

Here is the problem. Woke culture tries to say shit like Booksmart is funny.

That is what passes as funny nowadays? Movies without jokes or humor?

Now you are saying stuff that is just not true. Booksmart is awful and has no jokes.

We have that guy. Hangover 1 is the highest-grossing R rated comedy ever with only the Hangover 2 close domestically. Internationally Hangover 2 is the highest-grossing R rated comedy world wide. But, yeah no one in any culture finds them funny.

Yeah because that was the claim that was made.

That’s fine.  I’m not really sure why someone you presumably don’t know making someone else you presumably don’t know mad online is something that brings you joy, but to each their own.  See, that’s how online commenting should work - I express a view, you express something in opposition, then I respond and/or we all

Gotta call bullshit on that comparison, brah. The number of Zack Snyder articles published on this site over BvS versus pokes at Todd Philips doesn’t even begin to compare. This site feasted on Snyder for the better part of two years, and they still kept taking shots at him after his daughter killed herself.

Hey, someone disagrees with Laserface1242, so instead of engaging with the person in a discussion on a forum designed for exactly that, you should dismiss him so that we maintain our righteous echo chamber.

The first Hangover movie was funny. My least favorite thing from when someone starts acting like an asshat is we try to say “well they were never...” like it’s a badge of honor to either see through them, of have some kind of bias towards people.. That’s how we get into a lot of our messes: by trying to pretend that

I bet you think you brought some sort of insight to the conversation.

Yeah, let’s ignore how popular they were and pretend nobody every enjoyed one of them.
