@Flail: Was going to do that, but then got invited on a raft trip out by Moab.

@rebeldevil: I (and my father, the retired police officer) have been pretty happy with the Glock 21 (.45). Good gun, dead simple to clean (important if you're relying on it for defense - you need to know the gun will work and not jam on something you didn't clean out because it was too hard), doesn't kick too bad. I'd

@Flail: Congrats! I used to be able to do that, back in my Navy days, but haven't had a good enough reason recently

@AgentSmithAndWeston: Yeah, they weren't supposed to pop up above our local horizon until about, oh 2 AM, so, yeah, didn't happen.

@castor_t: I'm a runner, and it ends up being fun.

@digitmint: I've had really good luck hauling around a lot of stuff (engineering student) with a Chrome messenger bag - great comfortable strap, and will never come apart. Yes, stupid hipsters also wear them, but you're above that, right?

@Hiphopopotamus: But not at 'broadband' speeds, as defined by whoever it was that just redefined it (FCC? can't remember). Also, the lag (and ensuing complications) make it so I can't access services that I've paid for, like netflix instant watch. And it's not that I'm in bumf*ck either - I'm 30 miles (at most) from

@Courteous_Gentleman: Arrgh, and now the engineer (and OCD) in me is seeing it too. And wanting to do the similar thing in solidworks.

@kayfouroh: No thanks, I'll pass. (full disclosure - I've never had any PBR, so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing - I'd just rather have a nice margarita on a beautiful summer evening).

I do without the TV (and rather well), but as we're getting into the home ownership thing, especially of the family farm variety, it's impossible to do without quite a few things on that list, esp. the last 20. And as for the rest, there's some extravagances they're doing without, but a lot of them are convenience

Hmm, apparently only old folks live in my town. Because all their segments are for people 45 and older. And this is a college town. Hmm.

@CapitalJigga: I'm just getting started with it, so I hadn't heard of that. I'll have to look that up.

@discounteggroll: Yeah, I've never found the lid to work all that well. But it really does work well, and makes delicious popcorn with no old maids.

Nike Plus? Am I the only one that still uses it?

@Phoshi: All right. Going to see a free outdoor movie (Princess Bride) tonight. And see the fireworks that got rained out on 4th of July. Just hope it doesn't rain tonight.

@iDroid: How big are they? One thing my girlfriend and I do with the little ones is (after they've been gutted/deheaded) sprinkle them with salt, coat them with cornmeal, then fry them up in some oil. Delicious. Works better with little ones (less than ~12 inches).

I love the little net that they drew on there to catch the baby with.
