What rental company was this? I was there in Germany in April and Sixt couldn’t careless about the IDP. Just the usual credit card. Same deal in Irleand and UK... I just changed a clutch and other various small bits for a clients E39 M5 with 100000kms. The bill came to 4000$, half of that was for the clutch/ flywheel kit. Next up is going to be the vanos system/timing chain/ guides. Any E39 M5 you buy now will need some heavy maintenance...
