As much as I enjoy pondering the behavior the loot cave inspires (and making jokes about it), I don't think much of the design decisions that led players to it. This write up seems very fair. I am having loads of fun in the game, though I agree with you whole-heartedly on the aspects in which it falls flat.

To top things off, Destiny features some of the best video game hair I've ever seen.
