That is true, but I don't remember the pokemon having to be in it's FINAL evolution for it to mega evolve since there are only specific pokemon who can mega evolve in the first place. (That's a long sentence...)

What if there's a Mega Pikachu! I would think it's possible since Pikachu can't evolve without a stone, therefore Pikachu could have it's own Mega form!
