Finally some one that gets it. They are giving the best blank-canvas you can buy today.
Unfortunately the so called under/over square rule is not as rigid as you think. For example the old Beetle VW flat-4 is has a large bore and short stroke (over-square), yet is certainly not an easy revver. On the other hand, Honda's infamous B18C5 (found in the original Type R) has a long stroke/small bore…
Here is another one from the 2010 Australian Rally Championship.
Aerodynamics?
Well, we will just have to see when it races at Le Mans next year.
Seals. The bane of all things rotary....
That fits well, not sure bout in the states but down here in Aus WRX's are often reffered to as "Rexies". As in "Ey mate, check out that Rexie wrapped around that pole"
I want 1000hp and 80mpg and a sunroof and and five...no...SIX...YEAH SIX WINGS!!!
Looks like Jag was pinching from Fords parts bin. These keys are the same as my Ford Falcon Utility.
Sure. But in a rotary that is a lot of compromise. Plus, how are you getting home if something goes wrong at the track (and it inevitably will).
How is an engine made for the racetrack useless? I wouldn't race on public roads nor would I commute on a race track.
So yeah, not ideal for a daily driver, but certainly "fit for purpose" wouldn't you say?
refer to my reply to "Disgruntled Rob"
Pull the other one mate. Yes I understand in your daily commute, a rotary is not ideal, but that isn't what a rotary is for is it? No a rotary is at home on the race-track, where a 10,000RPM redline is favourable, where it doesn't matter that you make no power under 3000RPM.
