V8s just work so well as boat engines. Big and lazy is how you want it so you can get it up on plane and sit it there with minimal throttle input.

Some oil filter placements are truly baffling...
I have seen people muck this up when they have different width tires. Don't ask me how but they managed to not use either of those rotation patterns and ended up with two different tire widths on each axle.
