Hard to beat the Cadillac of mini vans.
Hard to beat the Cadillac of mini vans.
Let's not forget the twin cam magic that the Aussies worked on these.
One of the most dead end motors ever created.
Possibly under-appreciated on *this* side of the pond, but built under the tutelage of Rover, it has an epic reputation in Britain.
The 1UZ from Lexus deserves more credit …. great engine and they are pretty damn reliable too.
I agree with the notion of Honda engines. Always reliable for over two decades now.
Ford Falcons inline 6
The rotary is worse at everything than the alternatives. Gas, diesel, hybrid. All better choices. I understand the rotary's novelty, and I understand why some people love it... but let's not kid ourselves and say it's a good engine considering what else is out there.
If by "great power delivery" you meany peaky and lacking torque, then yes it is "great". I have driven and owned a rotary in the past ('89 FC Turbo II). Nothing happened until halfway up the rev band, the naturally aspirated models were even worse. The 13B-REW was even worse.
One of the worst engines ever used in the retail car market is dead. This calls for a dance party in the name of progress.
Good. Not that efficient, not that economical, certainly not that reliable. Oh wait, you said rotary fans. Sorry! :)
Only if you smoke a little crack...
Biscione aka Vipera. Italians love them.
I just looked this up. So the Alfa logo is actually a dragon wearing a crown eating a man alive? I think even more highly of them now.
Ahhh, How The Chinese Bit Off More Than They Could Chew...
And now realize that they will ruin Volvo.
When your most exciting feature is that you can install three car seats in the back, you're winning the boring contest by a mile.
Lancer ES. All the crappy interior and lack of refinement of an EVO with none of the performance.
The Chevy Cruze. It's not a bad car, and I would argue that it's better than the Corolla, except why the hell would anyone, in the year 2013, put drum brakes on the rear axle on a passenger car?!
Chevy Malibu...it is a mid-size family sedan...so kind of boring right there. It doesn't have the reliability history of the Toyota or Honda nor the style or fun of the Mazda and Ford. It is really the "why even bother" car...they should have called it the Meh-libu.
Knock the corolla all you want but seriously, does it get any more beige than the Cruze?
