4-point harnesses are contentious because you can “submarine” and get squeezed out the bottom opening in a hard enough crash. I think at this point they’re mainly used for autocross, so it’s probably a combination of keeping the driver in control of the car, and greater safety at relatively low speeds.

I consider myself a bean counter and I voiced concerns over illegal and unethical stuff to the displeasure of my previous boss. The blame goes to managers who are inherently useless and would not be able to get another job if their life depended on it, so they can’t afford to lose their current one over standing by

It’s good to leave it up. It’s a visual reminder of what’s at stake behind the wheel of any car.

Holy shit. Okay let me spell it out for you....

So if someone needs to go straight, YOU have the right to cut them off and slow them down unnecessarily because you did not have the foresight to plan ahead nor the courtesy to just go to the next intersection to turn around? Do you always refuse to be accountable for your driving?

There wasn’t enough room in front of the Explorer to safely merge, yet the Sequoia tried to force their way in instead of waiting until the Explorer had passed to merge between the Explorer and the camera vehicle. Plus maybe the officer noticed some other infraction, like being on a cell phone (illegal in some

The cop was in the lane and therefore had the right of way. The Sequoia should have waited until someone yielded to him before making the lane change. That being said, I agree that the cop was a jerk for not allowing the merge.

3 of their first 4 races. 6th, 5th and 8th in Australia, Bahrain and Russia, respectively.

They did surprise everyone last year by getting points early and often (1 or 2 at a time, but still impressive for a brand new team). No one expected them to place 8th in the constructors.

These are the best I could do with Corel.

For those comparing the sharkfin to LMP or other spec, F 1 has been here before, 2010 for example

That’s what I was wondering. Whether they might be revving it higher there in testing than they will in race. They generally short shift the cars, because they have a fuel flow rate restriction, and the engine gets to a point of diminishing returns.

It sounds exactly like last year’s cars.

It sounds the same to me.

I’m starring you for the username alone. I grew up in a SAAB. I loved that it was Swedish like me, weird like me - four on the tree, really? - and made to thrive in cold climates. I loved that the parent company started out building airplanes. I loved that the silly thing was ridiculously tough, loaded with a

No, it is zero. Max torque for an electric motor occurs when the motor is stalled, 0 rpm.

Maybe they partnered with Red Bull?

If this is real, and not just simply something for testing only or to throw other teams off, I wonder if it is designed to create some variable speed aero. Based on its positioning I wouldn’t be shocked if it works to detach some airflow at higher speeds (keeping it off the wing and creating less drag) while still
