As someone who speaks quite a bit of German, fluent French and conversational Vietnamese and Spanish: shut the fuck up.

I actually pronounce Volkswagen “Folksvagen” (mainly just because it’s more fun to say that way), and because it makes me think of the stupidity of the Nazi propaganda surrounding “Volk”, but Porsche I refuse to pronounce with the e unless I’m speaking German. Because Porsche was a fucking Nazi who ripped off the…
THANK YOU! I’ve been saying this for ever, if people cared about the correct pronunciation, volkswagen would come up much more. No one really gives a damn about how you are supposed to say Porsche, people just like being smug assholes.
Been down this road before, but I’ll say it again. In American English, I say “porsch” because I’m not speaking German. I also say “pair-iss” instead of “pair-ee” when pronouncing Paris because I’m not speaking French. I don’t really care how you pronounce it when you ask me about my car at the gas pump.
I wouldn’t care if they didn’t care SO MUCH.
If we wanted to be lectured on proper German pronunciation we probably wouldn’t have worked quite as hard on winning TWO WORLD WARS.
Those of us who mourned Saab have moved firmly into the “acceptance” phase.
I very much disagree with you as someone who saved a lot in my 401k in my 20s. I’d rather have too much there than pay taxes on all my gains for 25 more years (I’m 30 now). I did take out a 401k loan to get to 20% down on a mortgage, which isn’t optimal, but it shows that the money is somewhat accessible.
This is news that directly concerns the automotive industry. And no, not by any objective measure would a wall/tariffs/anything at all be worth it.
An alternative view - its CP and you have bad judgment when buying vehicles?
Not only is it a NP, it’s local. Calling about it right now.
Counterpoint: That is not too much.
“It was Vettel’s first Nations Cup title without Michael Schumacher as his teammate”
i guess it just keeps looking like opposing/interweaving chevrons or v’s. i agree, i see how it relates, but it lacks the immediate understanding that either of their previous logo’s offer.
Dodge needs to bring the Fratzog logo back. My ‘66 Charger has 3 of them and it gives me a great excuse to use the word “Fratzog”.
I’ll see meself out now...
Too bad Trump won’t let them import it.
my boss?
