I disagree. It is very much like what they do with the JDM Honda badges and is likely a play on that to appeal to people that were in high school in the 90s and grew up with the type r integras and such.

THIS. I don’t have any problem whatsoever with complaints about vehicle design. In fact sometimes i even enjoy reading them. But don’t complain about the beak and then complain when they get rid of it.

That makes sense though. When those cars were getting a new six speed, an additional overdrive gear was being added to the top to increase top speed which doesn’t really matter on a daily driver. All of those cars could be driven in 1-5 99% of the time.

Don’t know why you wouldn’t want a three phase. All but eliminates the torque ripple.

I agree. Really low power cars benefit from a sixth, but five is a good balance of having the right gear at the right time without having to shift too often.
