Huh? There's a lot of drugs that are nowhere near as dangerous as they're made out to be, but cocaine is by no means "safe". Various studies have shown it to be one of the drugs most likely to cause dependence, and it can do a significant amount of harm to the user.

The tone with which you're writing these updates is really weirdly passive aggressive. I get the skepticism at first - it's a pretty crazy story, and often there's something more to these stories (Exhibit A: Robert Allenby). But as far as I can tell, literally every detail of the investigation to date has supported

Don't be pedantic - would you prefer the "British FAs" which would include the Football Associations of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland?

If the TSSAA has a problem with this, then perhaps they need to reexamine the way that their tournament is run. The girls here were playing to win - win the tournament, which is the ultimate goal. That they felt the best way to do that was to intentionally lose this game is the fault of tournament organizers, not the

That weed advice is very dangerous advice that needs a lot of caveats. Specifically, make sure you know the drug laws of the place you're going, as well as how those laws are enforced. That goes for within the US as well as outside the US - some places take weed (and other drugs) a lot more seriously than others.

The biggest shareholders of almost every single public company are large investment firms (excepting ones whose largest shareholders are an individual or a family trust) - that doesn't really mean anything.

Does it speak positively or negatively? I can't tell from your comment - personally I think it's a positive thing that she doesn't know every historical racist word around.

Looked pretty clear to me that Dwyer didn't want to keep hitting him, but the ref wasn't stopping the fight. That's on the ref - not Dwyer.

He's a weird type of troll, just ignore him. If you look at his comment history he just has a bunch of ignored comments complaining about the free material he's reading.

How is it "pouting and trying to weasel your way into winning"? It's not like the Lions in particular are cursed with always getting bad calls and this is only benefitting them - the rule would apply to all 32 teams. It's just that they have first hand experience with it and it's become a more obvious issue to them.

JeffGoldblumsMullet was making a joke (and a good one at that - that's one talented head of hair!) I had the same reaction as you did when I started reading it, but read the rest - he's joking around.

+1 slomin's shielded blankie

Good for him, and good for his dad for sticking up for him in a well thought out way. Sure it was a little ranty, but it was also reasonable and rational, and his points were spot on (assuming that what he's saying is true, which I don't doubt since it sounds like pretty standard operating procedure in the NFL).

The correct rule?

Is this your new go to phrase for someone who points something out and disagrees with you?

Big 12 down year? I don't think I've read or talked to anyone who would agree with that - what makes you say that, or was it just supposed to be fodder for comments?

Why is this dumb? As a college football fan I'm excited about having these games on NYE, as are my friends who are fans, so I'm not sure I get the "Because they are dumb, presumably" conclusion to this. Is there some financial angle that I'm not considering? If there is, it isn't obvious to me from this blurb.

If your response to people who are joking around is to get really offended and call people virgins, maybe Deadspin isn't for you.

I read the original post as more of a jab at Goodell than Obama, but I guess my read could be wrong. I thought he was saying "Goodell, you think you're too important to sit for an interview? Even the president did, and he's way more important than you!" Hard to tell sometimes on the Internet...

Even that's a stretch - 6-7, 6-0, 6-3, 7-5 is a pretty comfortable victory. It's like a basketball team winning by 10 - not a blowout, but hardly dramatic.
