I enjoyed Mimic a lot. I think I've seen Absolute Power and maybe Kiss the Girls? can't say much about the rest of them.

the Ruby Rhod parts made me want to stab myself in the face the first few times I saw the movie, but I'm okay with them now. it does kinda fit with the hyper-ridiculous celebrity / tabloid culture.

literally the only scene I remember from that movie.

I remember playing through Dead Space on the Xbox 360, and all I could think of was that it's essentially the video game adaptation of Event Horizon.

yeah, but… being better than Alien 3 isn't exactly a resounding endorsement :/

very expensive novelty bottles.

Starship Troopers is fantastic. so is The Fifth Element, which I'd argue does zany a lot better than just the bonkers scenery chewing that you'd expect from Face / Off, given the casting.

Disqus has been exceptionally buggy lately — at least, as far as the comments here on the AV Club are concerned.

I don't think I really grasp some of the core principles of economics, but at some point, it really feels like some of the indicators for economic growth (of a nation or global trend) start to detach from reality and spiral off into wild supposition.

have you seen the episode where he plays an alien in Rick and Morty? (I think he's an intergalactic politician, roughly analogous to a head of state.)

in his case, it most certainly does not take courage. his boorishness and unmitigated awfulness are entirely founded on a life of truly insane privilege and wealth, the likes of which are hard to fathom for most of us.

given what little I know of Herzog (and his wonderful monologues / voiceovers), it makes me think that he means authentic as in unfiltered?

I feel odd just using the emoji representations of facial expressions. I rarely delve into using anything else.

he already has the money, though. the whole thing just reads like an ego defense.

what's that short for?

is it bad that I hadn't even heard of that movie til today?

I suspect this is just a matter of folks like you and I not grasping the nuances of the game.

so… no change?

kinda the same principle behind what I've heard of people who meticulously curate their Facebook profiles for the sake of hookups.

y'know, I just had a conversation the other day how I stopped watching Death Note entirely after I got to, uhh… the third sequence / season? I was told that the ending made up for it, but honestly… even if the ending is somewhat redeeming, I don't know if I can be bothered to slog through the rest of it.
