I reference that battle all the time, probably the greatest space battle that I can think of.

Think of it this way, The empire is literally milking the galaxy dry so they can afford one-offs and when they upgrade they either sell off the surplus wholesale or donate it to the local law enforcement/”national guard”.

Haven’t read it yet but... I’m gonna guess someone else profits. Thats kind of how it works when you are a collector. Unless you have something in place when you die your family will just take over and usually they have little appreciation for your hobbies when they have lost you. I picked up a box of like 100 Star

I find that pretty common in Japanese storylines, I think they just like to be cryptic to increase mystery. But really good stories like the Ghibli movies have clear, coherent plots and tons of mystery, so it’s either a choice or lazy writing. Although I just finished stranger things on Netflix and I have kind of the

Well, according to Hyperburned2 we just aren’t capable of understanding the story.

Interesting, I was listening the Nerdist podcast and he had Robert Kirkman on (the walking dead) and Kirkman is doing pretty much the same thing with the TV show but in reverse. Since the comic is like 10 ‘seasons’ ahead of where the TV show is and was penned about 10 years ago he is fleshing things out on the TV show

Meh, just because you got something out of it doesn’t mean it was a good story. But if you read my comment, that what I thought in the 90s and as a pre-teen/teen boy all I wanted to see was explosions and anime boobs. I don’t really remember much of it at this point in my life but I could probably wrap my mind around

I remember reading that somewhere that there was a massive well put together story with some huge arcs in the manga. I mean what a surprise that a TV adaptation gutted a more fleshed out paper based story to market it to the masses *gasp*. Although if they hadn’t done that I would have never heard of Akira. Same thing

I’ve thought the same thing, I remember watching it in the 90s and thinking it was a pretty good anime but mostly nonsensical (like so many Japanese shows). At least the animation quality was among the best at that time.

I’m totally with you there. I have a inexpensive (if larger) 27" Planar at home and my work bought all new 34" Ultrawide 3440x1440 displays so I decided to take one home for ‘security’ until the actual workstation shows up and HOLY CRAP it makes my Planar look like trash.

Woah, thats some serious CRT hoarding. I’m sure that’s what my place would look like if I hadn’t gotten married, it’s just so hard to get rid of good(ish?) hardware. I did dump my CRTs about 8 years ago, I couldn’t even give them away, second hand stores won’t take them.

WTF why are people you don’t know touching you!?!?!?

Serious people touch your hair in public, just, randomly?!? I’m a whitish (hispanic somewhere way way back) guy in Idaho and I wouldn’t touch anyone I didn’t know unless it was an accident. I prefer to give everyone a 1-2 ft bubble of personal space (especially women), if possible.

See that proves my point even more, if the creature was drawn to any amount of blood then people all over the city should have been attacked. And, if it was going after El they should have portrayed that better throughout the show because it literally never tracked her at all unless she came to it.

I wasn’t really expecting anything going in but the first few episodes presented itself as a well written (and thought out) show. By the end I felt it just didn’t make enough sense and certainly didn’t explain anything.

I think that has to do with how it (the walking dead) can be as punishing to watch as it is enjoyable. With so much pain and death with the chance to lose a beloved character at any time the show is bingeable but it is also nice to take a break once in awhile. It is even easier to take breaks during the season because

This guy seems a little butthurt about something and is taking this chance to whine about his treatment. Sadly Ghibli seems to have run it’s course and if it is truly a difficult place to work for maybe it’s a good thing. Ghibli has influenced so many creative people and I’m certain we will continue to have more

Probably one of the healthiest choices you could make is to cut back on television, but there are a ton of good shows out there. Sadly I don’t think I would include this show in that list, it started strong but I was really disappointed by the end.

Well if you’re looking for permanent adhesive then any sort of construction glue should work. If not, then a couple weeks hold with anything is probably all you can expect. Trying to get removable adhesive to have a long hold on the plastic in a pool noodle is going to be difficult. You could try zip tying them on or

Yes, I didn’t want to bother writing it all out so thanks for doing it for me. There was just too much cheese in this first episode.
