I don’t think he served his sentence as he did not comply with the terms of his plea. It may be a technical violation but this really should be his NUMBER ONE PRIORITY, ahead of school, ahead of baseball, and he did not comply.

Developmental psychologist here who works at a public agency and deals with cases like the above. This situation is actually fairly common in families, so much so that it wouldn’t shock you. The difference is 1) the kids never tell or 2) families are too embarrassed to go public.

And if you read the story in the Oregonian, it explains that recidivism among juvenile sex offenders is actually very low following treatment (maybe that’s common knowledge among educated people, but I always understood the opposite to be true in cases of pedophilia).
