In the UK if you build your own refinery (legal to do) for biodiesel if you get NEW vegetable oil in enough bulk it's under £1/l at retail prices (where diesel is £1.30/l approx) so if you make a decent amount you can cover yourself quickly, even more if you can get a good price used
