Agreed. I would just add that simply because the consumer wants something and it’s available doesn’t mean it’s in the consumer’s interest to act on that want.

I respectfully disagree. The manufacturer’s sole interest is profits/sales of their product (aka capitalism). If the one-off gun owner’s sole interest is the profits of the industry as well, then that just makes that gun owner a sucker.

It really helped me understand that 5 percent number when I heard someone say that the NRA is not an organization for gun owners but an organization for gun manufacturers.

Ending the prohibition of plants (coca, opium, cannabis) would greatly reduce gun violence as well as not affect the 2nd Amendment.
