A low miles (<15k miles) rental car with an independent pre-buy inspection might not be such a bad deal.

Well, bully for you. Where I live things are spread out. When I use my bike I’m covering more then 80 miles in a day of riding. Either I ride to a friend’s house or a meetup point first, then about a 20-30 mile joy ride or trip to get lunch someplace, then home. Even my most typical “commute” is going to push 60 miles…
Also, let’s take a moment to recognize that 3.94 seconds 0-60 is pretty slow by bike standards. Bikes costing less then half what this one does will do the job in well under 3 seconds.
Gasoline - no, but I do believe there is going to be a place for biofuel powered vehicles. I would have expected to see greater leaps forward in battery technology by now, but it seems like manufacturers are settling with Li-Ion as good enough.
This website keeps trying to tout this technology as “the future”. Look if all we have to look forward to is an average speed of 37 mph due to having to stop and charge for an hour every 75 mile - or worse be stuck with a maximum radius of 40 miles, then the hobby will die.
Honestly, who fucking cares. The Zero has an 82 mile range at speeds you actually want to ride at, and I’m sure that drops even quicker if you are getting on it out of corners, and despite having a tiny battery, still requires an hour to get a 95% charge.
I dont have any pictures unfortunately, but for a while there was a guy auto crossing a V8 swapped Corvair.
This. Give me a clutch pedal for taking off and low speed maneuvering, but a paddle with high spring pressure and a hard detent can be very satisfying, especially when coupled with a positive shift engagement.
I would love to see sequential manual transmissions in road cars become a thing. Or hell, just have a foot operated clutch override for a dual clutch setup. The paddleshifters on an Alfa Giulia feel excellent, couple that setup to a DCT and I think it’s a winning combo that allows the use of helical cut gears.
Vintage Grand Prix. Great turnout in town, very few up at the track. Indy Car was absolutely awesome when we went. The Six Hours is always a ton of fun too.
Bring back Watkins Glen
This car definitely calls for a thorough pre-buy inspection. But if the inspection came back clean or with only minor issues, I’m gonna say nice price all day long. It’d be NP even if it still had the original Boxster engine with the IMS mod done at the mileage on it.
Hey fuckwit, it’s got lower CO2 emissions as the gasoline counterparts. That coupled with the particulate filter and scr and the fact that it's in the same bin as the gas engine variants and must meet the same emissions standards mean this is the most environmentally friendly wrangler there is. And you dont need to…
I’ve always felt it’s a missed opportunity that the door handle hasn’t been a trigger on the diagonally run door grabs... they're practically a pistol grip already.
This car would be useless for us. I work from home, and my wife’s job is in fact only 5 miles away (admittedly there is 1300 ft of vertical climb in that distance). So sure, for her commute that’s fine. But that is NOT what most of our driving encompasses. Usually once a week we drive the kids over to my in-laws,…
Counter-counterpoint, when you reduce that range by the average 41% that electric cars suffer in winter weather - that range becomes 65 miles. Our most typical use of our vehicles is driving someplace 30 - 40 miles away. That leaves us with absolutely no margin of error in the winter. I’m fine with lower range…
It was a joke - none of that stuff is standard on a BMW. All expensive optional extras that would push this car into Bullitt Mustang territory.
Thats an expensive Elantra. At least it comes standard with leather, Android Auto, and Carplay.
All I came here to say is that Lincoln hands down has the best names in the industry right now: “Honey, let’s take the Nautilus”, “I drive Continental”, Aviator, Corsair, and Navigator all have presence as well.
Good point. You would probably need to use some electric power production to compress the air (which you would still be doing anyways to maintain cabin pressure). Still the reduction in power to overcome parasitic drag due to decreased air density should be greater than the power needed to compress the air. (The…
