This was weak, all around. Why so much shouting, sniggering euphemisms, bodily fluids and misplaced cue cards (Chris Redd could try harder to memorize his lines)?

I thought I had never heard of him until this week, then was reminded about The Carmichael Show above and I felt bad for missing it. He has quite a bit of Dave Chapelle vibes. I will check out those HBO shows (that HBO promo for Rothaniel in the commercial break was dumb, though.)

This was the klunkiest episode for this series, for a show that specializes in multiple storylines. I think this was an attempt to squeeze in two epiodes due to the pandemic. Sorry but most of Beth’s plot throughlines felt very corny to me. Her phone call to her ex-mentor in particular felt exactly like Kate’s…
