Kid vocalists, both naturally-gifted and trained, can acheive a nice tonal vibrato. I have seen all the other movies and a performance in Chicago in 1980...this was the least impressive vocals of Annie for my ears. Not to trample Celina down—she did a fine job and will have a future in Broadwsy  if she continues  it.

Richard Beymer and Natalie Wood bring it down for me. He is so “golly gee” and her forced Latin accent training stands out like a sore thumb, and of course thry didnt sing a damned thing.

As a longtime Annie watcher since childhood, my only regret of this was Celine Smith’s vocal technique. Just overly loud and vibrato-less...but at least it wasn’t autotuned. And the earpiece draped over Connick’s head throughout was a huge distraction. Was surprised they installed the two songs cut from the original

Unfortunately, and I hate to criticize a little girl, but Smith is shrill and has no vibrato. Maybe autotune would have helped here.

Indeed, the candid talk amongst Lindsay-Hogg, George Martin, Mal Evans et al said a lot of things that the 4 band members could not.

And poor George remarks, “Yeah I dont give a fuck if we use it or not!” :(

That warm smile of “Holy shit, i'm jamming with The Beatles!" was so palpable.

The most emotionally striking part was about 15 minutes into Ep2, Paul coming to the realization that things were not going well and he had no clear plan of what to do about it. He stares out quietly for like three full minutes, and tears start to well up. Then he comes to, shakes his head, and walks away from the

Part of the mythology is Paul hated Revolution 9, but hindsight has shown that Paul was not averse to going avant-garde.

Episode 2 Paul confides that he really has no problem with Yoko, and no one suggests at any point that her presence is unwelcome. If we believe the editing at least.

But it IS idiotic.

Yeah, in effect, he is saying “whoever this is on the phone, store is closed for business today, so don’t waste my time”. He’s a New Yorker, he would be naturally abrupt. It seemed weirder to me though that he didnt hang up the phone AFTER Phoebe started saying why she called.

I tuned out from TayTay when she started singing and I started playing Angry Birds. I was shocked when i looked up minutes later and saw that she was still singing and it was snowing! Guess i shoulda paid attention this time.

A fair assessment on all counts. Well done, sir.

Best overall episode in ages. Dionne was a nice surprise. The horse rider spmg was cute (could have been a Phineas & Ferb joont!) and wildly big on the production value. Johnston I guess is being primed for the SNL MVP whether the world wants to or not...that Trump impression was EERIE.

Dk but when i first saw Davidson on SNL i swore that he was “that guy” i kept seeing in the pics for MR. ROBOT (i only learned about Mali when Bohemian Rhapsody got notices).

It’s obvious that they should have filmed it onstage, as was the case of Hamilton. Then you could have that theatrical suspension of (dis)belief that Platt is no way a high school kid.

Yeah..maybe it was the cost of renting the space that couldn't justify continuing.

Surprised they won't get sued. 😆😆.
