Be forewarned that Mr Mercedes is the first of a trilogy of King doing the crime/detective genre. This includes Finders Keepers and End of Watch. All of them are fine, but I didn't like Finders Keepers all that much…End Of Watch is the only one that takes a jump into the supernatural.
There is a remake that is promising to bring out many of the issues the tv movie couldn't (but I doubt the sex scene will be part of that)
They did what they could for 80s network tv…which is to say, not much.
