“Mariah. On the runway, your look was a Daydream, and sweet as Honey. But in the performance challenge, you had a BIT of a Breakdown. Im sorry my dear, but you are up for elimination.”

I will never stop reveling in schadenfreude over the fact that the founding Vice jackholes have turned into the exact things they once pretended to be the opposite of — bloated businessmen one hooker and a dry martini away from a coronary. Their “don’t” became a “do” by virtue of their own entitled hypocrisy.

...we have failed as a company to create a safe and inclusive workplace where everyone, especially women, can feel respected and thrive.

I am so tired. I feel like I’ve been shouting into the void for years that a lot of these cultural touchstones for cool, hip youth (Vice, American Apparel, etc) are the same old toxic and misogynistic tropes wrapped up in a new aesthetic. I’m tired of women’s bodies being commodified and used to reinforce the money

People commenting on this are 100% missing the point of the whole article. The irony of the situation. We are supposed to feel sorry for this kid who is being bullied (which we DO) but we are somehow not supposed to acknowledge the fact that his mother is basically pimping him out for donations, while instilling

I don’t know this kid, maybe he is innocent, and in which case, shouldn’t be bullied.

Yes, the author (who posted screencaps of some vile racist hate by the adult collecting free pity money) should be ashamed of directing attention to a racist scam queen?

White supremacists are bullies. This article does talk about bullying.

I’m not racist. I have white friends. Namaste!

How many generations until we grow out of this shit? Racism is a fucking anchor on our nation.

I hope you’re kidding. Also, let’s assume this little angel wrapped in the stars and bars has said some things at school that probably justify kids not liking him.

At the risk of sounding like an insensitive jerk....

Heard the accent, thought Tennessee, and my immediate reaction was, possible racists, please don’t be. Please be true to the idea that it’s wrong to demean people different from you.

Madison,

So now the original story comes into question. After all, one mans bullying is another mans “not letting a racist get away with saying shit to you.”

This is what happens when you use Big Mac sauce, instead of Poligrip.

Not an easy thing to handle? I’m pretty sure when these HR people disregard the complaints, refuse to investigate and tried to bribe it off...it becomes super easy. Don’t try to give justification for people not doing their job whether as a HR or a human being.

It’s easy to have no record of something when you refuse to file a record of it.

Thank you for taking the time to write this post, Jenna. You are right in saying that I'm not bitter about the experience (I don't think it would be healthy for me to still be bitter after six years, after all), but that doesn't mean I think Terry's behavior is okay. I'm pretty shocked no one's spoken about this
