I don’t think I can even conceptualize what the reward processing looks like in the heads of all these kids nowadays grinding out battlepasses... when I was a kid the metagame progress for online games was trying to get on the leaderboard for your favorite Counterstrike server and it’s such a comically quaint thing

My friends and I used to play Overwatch nearly nightly but we’ve all bounced off so hard from OW2. We rarely play and when we do everyone is just sour on the game. We used to point out the new skins and events and get all excited but now nobody cares because we’ll never get the new skins because you only unlock them

I think the opposite. It’s doing well enough they know they can get away with this shit and rake in boatloads. If it was doing very poorly, they wouldn’t be so blatant because the bitching of the internet would be a more meaningful. It made over 100 million dollars Q4 last year, the most the ‘franchise’ has ever made

Seriously. I’ve been dying for a Splatoon clone on PC because I can’t go back to playing shooters on Analog sticks after playing on M+KB for 15 years. And I’m tired of Square Enix releasing games that I’d enjoy but not on platforms I’d actually play on, only for those games to die later from lack of players. Imagine

FaZe Clan

How far up the console war shincter are you that you can’t remember Psychonauts 2, Ori and the Wisps, Battle Toads, Gears Tactics, Sea of Thieves and Flight Simulator? Or how about more recently HiFi Rush, Grounded, Minecraft Legends, and Pentiment.

Grounded, Minecraft Legends, Pentiment for the more recent. With Flight Simulator, Sea of Thieves, Gears Tactics, Battle Toads, Ori and the Wisps, Psychonauts 2, being a little older. Possibly Everwild coming up. I would even throw HiFi Rush in there, but I could understand argument against it.  While I don’t think

I’m also mostly digital. It’s such a delight to buy a game while I’m at work and have it ready to go when I get home.

I’ve moved to mostly digital. With all the patches (especially day 1 patches) and stuff, the disk is typically worthless anyway, and just requires me to figure out where my kid put it when they swapped games because of course it didn’t go back in the proper case.
If I could put the disk in and play the game perfectly

In the context of a free game that’s a bit different.

They didn’t.

I mean...they knew PvE was cancelled by the time PvP launched, and likely earlier, and still teased it for months and months and months. Dishonest as fuck.

...but I really don’t think there was any deceit or subterfuge or whatever people wanna ascribe to the overall debacle of OW2

If there is one thing I would like regulated, it would be digital money that actually represents real world money, in videogames. The only reason for it is to manipulate consumers to spend more money than they normally would on items. In game fake currency is fine, but if you want people to use physical cash to buy

This guy sounds like a generic right wing douchebag, and the world’s right wing douchebags are currently having their brains eaten by transphobia. So they have to shove their obsession into every conversation they possibly can.

I mean... no, that’s obviously not true. Some people might migrate to a cloud-only experience but there’s no way it’s going to be the majority of people. Lots of people want to own their games and lots of other people simply don’t have internet speeds needed for cloud gaming.

it’s landlordism for art. the hungry maw of capitalism will not be satiated until everyone is having their value extracted at every given moment and no one owns anything except a handful of people at the very top. They would make you rent your clothes if it was possible.

This is unfortunately how it happens. There’s zero need for the copyright holder to contact you in any way with how Youtube is set up.

To the shittiest parts of the fandom, sure.

lol do you think that they get trucks of pee delivered to this factory to make moisturizer?
