As an American it is also, but in reversed order.
This is going to be a very long, very dumb, and very depressing 6 months.
Arkane on Elder Scrolls I would like to see, I actually forgot how much I wanted that to happen when I first played Dishonored. They already made that Might & Magic game that was kind of like a linear Elder Scrolls. Dishonored’s combat blended with the openness of Elder Scrolls would be a great mix.
And this is why we will keep getting shit entries in the GitS franchise.
This just reveal what IPs really are. These are not ideas or visions from the creators, they are property - like baseball cards - owned by companies. The people who works on IPs don’t matter, what matters is the property part of IP.
Prey 2 would be my choice of their current IPs. I’m unsure where Dishonored as a story could go at this point, although I find myself intrigued by the idea of maybe a Dishonored game where all abilities are based on actual glitches as a theme, sort of running with some elements of Dishonored 2 and Death of the…
I don’t get how this “Cool” at all. They may be separate divisions of the same company, but they are still under the same umbrella and that umbrella owns all of the IP. Them announcing this is more like a way to get attention on these IP’s, which I’m sure they are planning to do something with and this is just the…
video games aren’t lent more legitimacy by being made into movies
Speaking of Painkiller, Witchfire - a game that was announced awhile back and promptly fell off the map - reminds me a lot of Painkiller.
I would too, but no way would I want Arkane’s talent wasted on Fallout. I like Fallout, but I’d rather see Arkane come up with a new IP, or Prey 2, or more Dishonored. Ha
Right. And that to me is a more legitimate argument about this game than, whatever the fuck incels are talking about.
I’m sensing some /r/pcmasterrace elitism here. I’ve preferred couch gaming since I was a kid, but modern consoles are 7-years old and many games run at sub-30 FPS these days. My PC is connected to my 65" LG OLED and I usually play at 1440p 120hz. Show me a console that can do that.

Sure. and it wouldn’t surprise me that’s ultimately the reason why they held this one back for a bit--The pandemic just hit for a lot of people and game that’s essentially “oh actually things get worse and will likely never get better” probably isn’t a good sell.
The insane thing is that the more I pour over the leaks, nothing in it seems to be “subverting expectations.” It’s all stuff that is perfectly within the realm of possibility for this story. The biggest surprise is the structure of the game (won’t say anything more than that), but in terms of plot points, it’s not…
The irony in all of this is how fans complain when they think directors/writers/producers/etc. are being “creatively limited” by big corporations.
I’m just concerned it’s going to turn into another Last Jedi situation. People get so wrapped up in the stories they love that it starts to become unhealthy and childish, so it follows that when someone comes along and tries to actually DO something with these characters, the fans revolt because their perceived…
Angry nerds will bitch about anything in games that would make them actually think and analize at a deeper level because how dare devs deprive us of instant gratification and self gloating. Not much different from boomers complaining about real world issues influencing comicbooks.
Right. the game seems to be doubling down on what I think the first game should have done better, which is questioning the violence and the idea that “the ends justify the means” as well as gamer’s own complicity in said violence.
Something to keep in mind, even if you are exposed to the leaks, is that the plot description is the usual “bullet points written by someone with a grudge” that you’d expect to see right now.
