A major healthcare provider in San Diego has been working off paper for two weeks since they were hit with ransomware. If you provide a critical service and you don’t have redundancies for things like this, you have failed.

Having analog redundancies in place absolutely makes sense when you provide a vital service to the public.

There are people in jail for longer for shoplifting a few dollars worth. You can guess the reasons for that.

You can’t. There are people who run scams to make money because that’s how they eat, and then there are people who run scams because they think it’s funny. The latter are, if not sociopaths, unredeemable.

I think it’s perfectly fair to say that this particular force was objectively overstaffed by four, at the very least.

To be fair, they were in Anacostia. That’s a notably not-white part of DC. It’s kind of nice they were hurting each other.

I don’t know the punishment is for street racing there. But, yeah open and shut case, charge them all with it.

You saved me a huge amount of typing - exactly what I was going to say. Hot hatches and cheap customizable stuff turned me into a car guy (Ford, particularly)....now almost all that is gone from them and I really don’t care about them as much anymore. That’s many years down the drain for me.
