It’s sad that my experience with big stupid trucks (being from rural Indiana where big stupid trucks are required) means I expected this truck to be a lot bigger and stupider.

The Bentley Continental GT, a car that is kinda in the same category but with an IC engine, also weighs 5,000 pounds. BMW M850 is 5,300 pounds.

According to a guy on Reddit, the actual thing that happened was the driver leaned over to pick up something from the footwell, and the car started rolling. He tried to push the brakes to stop it, but stomped the throttle instead, and probably panicked when it shot forward.

Seems pretty weird that this isn’t a cumulative fine, and that the fine is less than the yearly fee for license plate renewal. We don’t have license plate renewals where I’m from but we do have mandatory yearly inspections that cost about €35, and if you’re caught driving a car with an expired inspection the fine…
