No! Engineers can’t be given complete free reign. Nor can the designers for that matter. There must be balance in the force. Otherwise, yea, both of them should answer to no one.

Right? The well-that-escalated-quickly is strong with this one. And it almost could have been funny. Almost. “I drank so much I thought I was Australian. Then I kept drinking and thought I was...

Some poor sod in the stand had a full cup of blistering hot tea knocked into his face two seconds later.....

So if no foul was called, why was the first yellow-shirt guy allowed to stop the ball with his hand prior to kicking it?

I think the ref, did the right thing. There was no foul, on the other end. Not getting into a MLB type shouting match, but remaining calm and issuing his ruling for the mgr to be sent off. Only quibble I have, is that I did not see the red card being issued to the mgr or bench.

It’s a little more than “not exactly what happened.”

Hey Kirk, remember when I was laying odds on how quick we were gonna get this comment?

I could not give two fucks less what the person sitting next to me paid for a ticket to a sporting event, much less a Baseball game.

Disclaimer: Bruins fan here, so I hate the Habs.

why is this non story getting attention?

No, I asked if he ever said that. I don't think he did. If you read up you will see the common First Amendment trope that, while true, doesn't apply here. That was what I was trying to get across. Sorry if my wording was confusing.

I think this is a perfect example of correlation not being causation. This is only an anecdote, but I use LoseIt, which is a similar app. It frequently updates me on the foods I should eat more often because when I eat them those are days I eat fewer calories total.

If his radio station feels that they will lose listeners and sponsors by contnuing to allow him to spew his shit, they have a right to get rid of him.

Worth mentioning, and something I always advocate for, is that in rugby, you have to at least make an attempt to wrap up on all tackles.

Isn’t this a similar idea to Pete Carroll’s rugby approach to coaching tackling? Rugby players suffer far fewer serious injuries because they don’t wear pads or a helmet and therefor are forced to work on form tackling rather than just dangerous, brutal hits.

i agree with this. One of the reasons why I think it’s more dangerous than Rugby. You’re way less likely to throw the crown of your skull into another person if you don’t have a helmet to protect from structural damage.

Same logic as my no-condom birth control strategy. Women instinctively protect themselves by having nothing to do with me.

She’s not totally wrong. Feminism IS about getting to choose who you want to be and to live exactly how you want. The problem is that you also don’t get to tell other people who they get to be/how to act/what they should do with their body.......

This isn’t Darwinism. This is teenaged boys and their teenaged brains at work. Most of us escape our teen years having done something stupid that could have killed us. It’s a sad story and the fact that these boys were brothers compounds that tragedy.
