I’d actually give this one an A. The techno-babble didn’t bother me. The formula provided a great little vignette with each character. Frost had a moment. The shoot out was scary at the beginning. Jessie Quick looked great - girl has grown into the role. I was impressed. One of if not the best of the season.

Honestly, this was my favorite episode of an otherwise weak season. There were actual stakes and actual emotions. All of the FX looked great, too.

Rip and Wally getting drunk and doing karaoke together was easily the most fun either has ever been, which seems to bode well for Wally joining the team (and, fine, Rip hanging around for the rest of the season).

At one point Freeman’s character notes notes he’s never seen mag-lev trains operation for six efficently. It would if course make sense if those were actually....SOUL TRAINS!

AV Club tried to resolve that by doling out reviews for Netflix shows over a period of days or weeks, but it’s still not the same experience. Inevitably the momentum of the commentary is diminished. I don’t know that there’s anything that can be done about it at this point.

No no no. No. Example: Star Trek. Since it is released weekly, my friends and i are talking about it way into the weekend. Some see it Mondays, some later, but the conversation works and is more focused.

I like how Amazon did The Tick - they split the first season into two chunks of 6 half-hour episodes. You can easily watch 6 episodes over a weekend without feeling like you’re really binging so it felt a lot less stressful, but it’s also more than one at a time.
