100% agreed. Only thing I can think of is this is when the retro craze was at full bore.  American car companies were desperately trying to figure out how to either recreate a classic, a-la 2005 mustang, or somehow combine classic/retro design into a modern design language.

Because I would own it and I can do whatever the hell I want to it.

Wow!! This is a complete homerun! I’d pay 2x that because this car certainly is a modern classic.  I smell a bidding war breaking out on this.  I’d also have to swap out that engine for a b or k series for sure.
