Capitalism presumes the market is free to respond. Regulations prevent a response, so this guy owns the only drug and he knows no one else can copy or compete. He’s not responding to a demand, just milking the monopoly for everything its worth.

Bear in mind that wars and famines are often man-made disasters. If you don’t spend money on military and police then many problems get worse. You start to see conflicts closer to home because the world is connected.
