I think rift will try to be cross platform (makes the most sense for both parties, as microsoft is in the PC market too). Architecture wise its probably a short hop.
I'm reminded of the Kenyan hijacking where they did just that. By taking the plane and making unreasonable demands until the thing ran out of fuel, forcing the crew to ditch. Its not impossible that hijackers aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.
