I don't buy that gamers are lazy. They just don't have the means to interact how they would like with their hobby.

It has a few of those already, unlocked by stretch goals.
The biggest ones are just frigate sized and will cost a pretty penny in game money, but you can firefly or trek it up with a crew if you're so inclined.

Its only an advantage if Destiny is a better MMO than those on the PC.

Problem I see is a higher rez background with a low rez sprite breaks the illusion.

I don't think its any different than when a movie house cheats you into watching the latest collection of explosions filmed by Michael Bay.
If they let you watch the first ten minutes for free then I suspect we'd buy alot fewer tickets.

Demos are often a lose-lose for console games.
They cost money to put out and the chances of turning a non-buyer into a buyer are slim. You also risk turning off prospective customers if the demo sucks, or losing money from people who get their fill after a taste of the gameplay.

The full game is inaccessible. You can only play the downloaded parts it allows you to access. Online is also inaccessible. It won't let you interact with the server or other players until your game is updated.

Its still an incomplete picture because the Microsoft console patches first while Sony patches last.
Without patches, neither game is fully installed.
