I will never be over the fact that SVU did an episode based loosely on Anthony Weiner, in which the offending politician used “Enrique Trouble” for his “Carlos Danger” alter-ego.

This. When you’re amazing people, you get let off the leash, but once you’re no longer amazing, the leash comes back and is way shorter than you remember.

I agree. Let’s not forget, an Egyptian judoka was sent home for refusing to shake hands with his Israeli opponent. On the flip side, it awarded medals to the two runners who collided on the track. For all of its flaws, the IOC does take sportsmanship seriously. That Hope Solo made these comments during the Olympics…

Is Hope Solo really a hill worth dying on Jez?

Hope isn’t being suspended or released because of the Sweden comment. Rather, she’s being released because she’s been given slaps on the wrist over and over again because, up to this point, she was valuable to U.S. Soccer. But she is no longer the goalie she once was.

Has anyone ever had to take disability leave? I have chronic DVTs that are disabling, and I went to see my doctor this week and he said I can’t work for a while—like six months. He also said that it may be that I can’t go back at all.

I’m so sad. I have good disability insurance (although I’m still worried about it…

I've long felt that when people try and imagine history they never picture it with enough colors. Or smells. History really stank.
