No one is defending horse racing. Not sure how you would given all the horses dying from racing. 

Do you realize that it doesn’t take someone to file a protest for the stewards to disqualify a horse? This jockey and his horse nearly killed at least one horse and possibly a jockey, let alone the potential injuries

Also, another jockey/team does not even need to file a protest. Stewards can, and will, review and disqualify horses without any protest being filed
