The character sort of came together organically, I think- in the earliest episodes he’s only referred to and they weren’t necessarily planning for him to appear on screen.

“May the Good Lord take a likin’ to ya and blow you up real soon!”

What gets me is that the Chat AIs are by and large not programmed to prioritize giving accurate answers, but people are insisting on implementing them in areas where you would want accurate information.

And now I’m hearing that NPCs killed by this (i.e. all those villagers you may need to talk to) are revived in a week by the game’s clock so revives may not be necessary.

When I read the book I envisioned a young Harvey Keitel, I’m not sure of anyone who has that energy now.

People let me tell ya ‘bout my new best friend, Barnaby Jones!

Also I feel you do a lot more interacting with NPCs in DD than you do in most Souls-likes- there are like whole towns and villages full of people giving sidequests, and cutscenes triggering as part of the main story, while most Souls games have the feel of being isolated in a weird environment you don’t fully

This is honestly the first time I’ve ever heard anyone complain about the Pawns. Their chattiness and constant eager advice is strangely endearing to me.

The small screen works but there’s a certain bonus to a theatrical experience. There’s nothing quite like seeing Texas Chainsaw Massacre in a theater full of people who are trying not to freak the fuck out

I’m generally of the view that any movie that’s photographed at all well is improved by the big screen- you get to appreciate how it’s put together more. There’s a shot in The Fog of Adrienne Barbeau’s character going down a steep-as-fuck staircase to the lighthouse where she works, and on the small screen it’s

The first thing I thought of when I heard he passed. Acted the HELL out of that scene.

It always sorta seemed like this was a good franchisable concept- they bust ghosts, so every movie they just fight a different kind of supernatural beastie, yeah?

“I say... *hic* let’s nail the sucker!”

She’s always great with the physicality, so I understood when she was talking about playing Nebula. (Though I do wonder if she’d be game to do any of the Big Finish audios.)

I’ve managed a successful run of Balatro! Two even! It may not seem like much but with my record in roguelikes that’s damn good. Game is sick, a GOTY contender for sure. “What if cards but broken” is the greatest idea ever.

And he tried to be diplomatic! Transphobes are just so consistent about not wanting to listen to people who have actually had experiences with transgender relatives, friends, coworkers, etc.

And he tried to be nice about it! He was like “Hey I got a sister who’s trans, I’ll tell you a little about my experiences, just play cool about it” and she just refused to take the lifeline.

Yeah there are some games in there that I like more than the others but like, I can’t say for sure which were the more influential or important.

Possibly, but I’m not sure if this is a positive editorial change or the technical death throes of a dying husk of a site.

A list that isn’t a slideshow? Has something changed?
