I few years back I worked out with a certified personal trainer. (A family member was dying of cancer and I wasn’t eating very much just then [and was consequently a bit underweight] or getting enough physical activity. in other words, not taking care of myself). At the end of the two months of twice weekly sessions I

Honestly, me too. The have morbidly obese people Box Jumping in the ads for ffs... Box Jumping... I weigh 200 lbs, athletic and I don’t box jump because its tough on my knees and ankles. I can only imagine what an obese person feels like while doing it.

Well Bob Harper himself nearly died of a massive heart attack so it is odd that the person who is teaching the contestants to be healthy to ‘save their lives’ nearly died from a heart attack while exercising.

Not all parents are in a position to know the laws or to be able to provide enough for working age kids to quit their jobs.

Damn....

The interesting part here is that the parents must be enabling this to happen, as they are most likely fully aware of scheduling. Some are probably even driving to/from the restaurant for shifts.

Oooooo I like.

There are quite a number of fast food workers who are children, by a legal definition. I would never think that someone willing to take advantage of an adult with precarious employment would stop at the idea of taking advantage of a child.

So, I was specifically talking about child labor laws. I’m aware of general labor law abuse and worker exploitation

Restaurants in the US break all kinds of labor laws. Long shifts, no breaks, work but clock out early to avoid overtime, etc. At least that was my experience in the world of high end luxury restaurant service: P.F. Chang's! (That's a joke! Well, not the first part).

I saw the title and was like “Surely they mean this is happening in some other country.  Surely.”  But it’s literally happening in Massachusetts (and plenty of other locations if they really decide to investigate their work practices, I’m sure).

They are very fancy and have the best service- if you forget your denim jacket, they’ll provide one

Been to a Chipotle once >5 years ago, and have never been back. So I’m not sure either, tbh.

As a non-American, I had to smile at your comment because it’s such an American way of viewing the issue. Whether from the left or the right, it always comes down to money. The article and a lot of the author’s critics make the point that she’s profiting from Mexicans’ pain, and your proposed remedy is that the

I know they talk about Collins, Murkowski, Flake, and Manchin sitting in a room and vote trading/strategizing. Maybe that’s true and maybe it’s not, but Murkowski ends up voting against the party more than Collins or Flake. Ultimately the votes are all I have to go on, and she voted “No” on Kavanaugh. She voted

But that’s a better criticism of Collins than Murkowski.

If Murkowski is one of your least favorite senators, you’re doing it wrong. I mean, she shouldn’t be one of your favorites, obviously, but least favorite?
