Cars are almost always a consumable expense, not assets beyond any depreciating value they may hold at a given time (which is really of limited use if the car is needed by the user and, thus, can’t afford to sell it unless they’re going to trade down). the point is to drive your car until there is not real difference in depreciation, and THEN buy another. After 10 years and 200k, most cars are at the bottom anyway.

This dealer group has been really honest and straightforward in everything I’ve dealt with them. They have quite a few car guys that will just chat cars with me while my car is getting an oil change. I guess that’s why they’ve gotten my business for so long.
This is a bad take. That speed bump specifically causes him problems. Look more closely at the picture. It’s obvious there’s a problem specific to his garage. As he exits his garage, the sidewalk slopes down into a gutter, but the speed bump is much higher than the gutter.
