Watched the Mariah Carey interview on Jimmy Kimmel’s NBA special tonight. I became increasingly distracted each time that Mariah looked at herself in one of the studio monitors (I stopped counting around the fifth or sixth time).

What They Were Probably Promoting on Carson (13 Jan 1978):
An unexpected pleasure I receive from posting this feature is the occasional correction I get to make to IMDb and Wikipedia. The difference between a January 13 or January 15 premiere date for a forgotten TV special will probably not matter to anyone EVER, but I get the small satisfaction of knowing it’s correct.
Chuck Baris is one of the all-time great personalities and I truly appreciated his weirdness when I was a tadpole.
I missed the show. That exchange is awesome, I guess I have to watch it now. What a good wife Ed would be.
Jeez, I have the questionable habit of revisting my past pleasures probably too often. I think that is dangerous and leads to your favorite shows being Matlock and Murder She Wrote, so I understand the trajectory. Anyway…I'm at this moment replaying Final Fantasy Tactics for the umpteenth time. I found out that…
From the first time I heard Zooey Deschanel's voice, I knew I was obsessed. The music in her voice makes me indescribably happy.
Made me flash to the way "Dr. Pinder-Schloss" pronounces "Doctor" in The Addams Family movie.
"Hats for bats. Keep bats warm. Gracias."
Awesome Col.! Great work!
Noble of Amadeus to fall upon his own sword, but I blame the TV schedule that apparently we both reference. They skipped a dang day! Tomorrow will be back on schedule, and WTWPP will return.
Maybe I'm being being obtuse, but I think there is an extra word in that there headline.
I wonder how that happened. I haven't been paying close enough attention, I guess. Repeat or skip tonight? Or just do a single night on Thursday. It's fine with me either way, I'll follow your lead.
I re-watched part of Die Hard 2 when I was flipping around tonight. I’m probably not covering any new ground when I point out that an airplane that is running out of fuel should probably not explode in a ball of flames on impact.
What They Were Probably Promoting on Carson (21 May 1987):
I knew it wasn't right, but the only thing I could come up with was Erin's guess, New Zealand. I knew it was in that part of the world, but I completely forgot about Tasmania.
In other rerun news, Samantha Bee is also on vacation. TBS marathoned The Detour today and I recorded it because at least some of you guys liked it. If I hate it, I coming for y'all.
What They Were Probably Promoting on Carson (27 Apr 1990):
They've had some sportscasters on, is that close enough? Rich Eisen and Michele Beadle have both been on more than once.
I don't have anywhere to stick this. I'm sure y'all could give me some inventive suggestions…
