One of my favorite fantasy books I bought as a teen was The Compleat Enchanter: The Magical Misadventures of Harold Shea, which is probably obscure to most and completely outs me as a nerd. I only made the connection to the original source after seeing an old Addams Family cartoon that referenced it.
