its still lacking the ability to have more than one category assigned to an event so I can't import my calendar without loosing a lot of data.
Works well, I did it abut a year ago. Your basically maiing a dual boot system then opening one os inside the other. Only difficult part was having to set up two hardware profiles for the different ide drivers due to Windows PnP not being as advanced as Linux's.
I've used magnetic screwdrivers for many years with never a problem. Media like zip disks and floppies would corrupt themselves just sitting around, no need for a magnet. I had a college customer when I worked for a pc reseller who insisted students keep their data on zip disks and students were always complaining…
I think they misspelled holster intentionally since many proxies block the word holster since its usually associated with guns and stupid people automatically think that means violence. I was looking for a pda holster once and the proxy at my office blocked most of the results due to 'gun/weapon content is forbidden'
Thats why I said you have to be careful recommending laptops. Cheap ones use as much power as an average desktop and some desktops can be made to use less power than a laptop.
Lowering the resolution on the screen of a laptop won't do anything because the pixels can't resize so your just turning on multiple of the same.
The gas prices one is off. It seems everyone else started paying attention to what day they price was the lowest and the rush has started early. I used to get the lowest price wed mornings but now the price increase sometimes hits tuesday afternoon. So I've started topping off on tuesday mornings.
I bought my first own laptop in 1998 and after the little bit of a learning curve using the touchpad haven't went back to a mouse since. Now when I sit down at someone elses system and have to use a mouse I hate it, have to life my hand off the keyboard and reach over to find it then have the pointer jump around…
Rather than make a docs folder under the documents folder as the author shows, I moved the pictures, music, etc folders up one level under the profile folder. That way when I open my documents all I see are documents, i.e. no distractions. It was a simple matter to update the "my pictures" and "my music" shortcuts…
@Kareltje
Be careful when recommending buying a laptop, a lot of the low end comsumer models that are desktop replacements will use as much power as a desktop. I stick with the business models which are designed with lower power use and run all day thermal designs. Both of out business grade laptops have 65W power supplies…

I've had to do this. My company has an employee contact database where all your personal numbers and such are stored. Well I was assigned under a manager who just couldn't wait for the company assigned pager system so he would look up your number and call, yet the company wouldn't approve us just turning off our…
Of course the iphone isn't out yet but it seems to me that some things like the scroll to contacts will be too slow if you have a lot. To me its kind of like the scroll wheel on the mouse that everyone has to have so now you hear all these wheels spinning as people are busy scrolling all the way back to the top of a…
I've done this with vmware and Windows and Linux.
We typically take hundreds of photos when on vacations so it would require a lot of marking up of the map.
