the problem with these online tools is there are very few business where your safe to use them. Having your data in someone else hands puts you at too great of a risk

Too bad that earth911 site is pretty much worthless. Every return on computer recycling wants computers under three years old or wants to charge a bunch of $ to come to your office to pick up systems, there are no places I can drop off those old CGA monitors and dot matric printers I have sitting in my garage.

@Dville-Julie:

How about one for Excel, like how to fix the clipboard so it doesn't clear when you save or type text. Or how about so it doesn't scroll to a random colum when you turn on auto filter so you loose where you were. I can't beleive people pay for MS Office, after having t use it on a work system its certainly not up to

The same thing applies with calendaring. If you have a decent mail/calendar app you can set your appointment template to invite yourself to every meeting. So on your work calendaring system you invite an address at your home account which gets processed by your home mail client and added to your home calendar.

I can't even remember what my desktop background looks like, I guess I spent too much time actaully using my computer than looking at it.

@joshua:

Same here, biking isn't safe, its hardly safe driving to and from work every day. Plus you can't bike 20 miles each way to work but you can't live closer to work because the housing prices there are so overpriced I could buy three houses where I live for less than the price of one.

Thats where I am now, what about the one or two shows actualy worth watching? I'm paying a lot for just those one or two shows, I wish there was a way I could pay a couple $ each month of each channel and just get a couple.

We hardly ever watch movies, Holywood just doesn't have that much interesting. Our Tv is mostly for things like the discovery channel or lately noggin since its too cold outside to go out and our one year old it a bit to yount to play outside, he still thinks anything on the ground should go in the mouth. IMHO the

Yes, some of the truck stop/travel centers will charge less for cash, but thats when your buying 100 gallons of Diesel. I haven't seen any other type of station in 10 states which gives a cash discounts and the travel centers are 30 miles outside of the city.

Anyoe remember broadcast TV? Rememeber how the ads paid for it. Well then alomg came cable and you pay for the cable service but still have to see the ads, it seems to me they are getting paid twice, it should be either pay for the service or ads pay for the service not both.

Suffers from the same problem as other online services.

I almost never put receipts in my wallet anyway. Anything like ATM withdrwals or resturant receipts just go in my pocket and I check them against the online bank statement later then destroy them. Anything substantial I the reciept will go in the wallet until I get home and then get filed.

Except that using the Outlook Express address book is like leaving your keys in your car parked in the 'hood. That one program alone has cause so much trouble over the years, I think its second only to AOL's software.

@thor222: I'm going to have do download a more recent one then, the version I have you could only select one. I wonder if they fixed this in the calendar also?

Me thinks the big question is why was your address book within outlook express?

The other issue with freeware and shareware is lack of support, you usually don't get any better support with freeware and shareware than you do from Microsoft. Have a feature you want added, not a chance, fix that old bug that has been around for the last 3 versions, nope. With Open Source you can get support for
