Oh? And for the many many people who bought the game anyway and continued expressing their disappointment I suppose you think that’s the same thing?

Imagine caring as much as you do that people who are slightly less good at *video games* than you are might get to enjoy a piece of art slightly differently than you do.
The devs in this case did not intend for a save or suspend feature, and never advertised one, so no, this isn’t the same thing.
If my goal is to make something inaccessible, accessibility is not a positive thing.
What entitlement? Customers want the features they want, and they’re going to complain when they don’t get them. Difficulty options are a feature customers expect from their games in the same way they expect certain features from their smart phone or their new car. And they have every right to make themselves heard to…
I also don’t see the need to add one in just because certain people are demanding it
Or you can let people play games the way they want to. Your understanding isn’t required.
Let them! Single-player game, let people do whatever.
“Not count” for what? It’s a single-player game. Who is supposed to be counting?

Lots of streamers play FAR below their level. In CoD: Warzone I’m about a 1.85 player. Pretty decent, sure.
But go to a prominent streamer - Huskers, NickMercs when he used to play Warzone, etc. 4.5kd ish for those guys. Oh, and they often group up with similar skill players. So they’ll all be 4+kd.
What’s disgusting…
I get what you’re saying here, but to me, that sounds less like ‘SBMM is bad’ than it does ‘those specific challenges are designed poorly’. If they weren’t designed with their game’s skill based matchmaking in mind - and taking into account how that would effect players’ K/Ds and whatnot - that’s a problem with the…
‘the game is only fun for me if I can tell myself I’m making it not fun for someone else’.
Yeah, I get that (and I get the complaint that it makes matchmaking times longer as well)... but I also don’t see how you don’t get the same result without skill-based matchmaking, when you’re just chasing the lesser-skilled players out of the mode entirely. Then, you’re right back to ‘the only people playing at all’…
I’m sure I’m being uncharitable, but it’s hard for me to read ‘I’m a high skill player who hates the idea of skill-based matchmaking’ as anything other than ‘the game is only fun for me if I can tell myself I’m making it not fun for someone else’.
I mean... they can have games that feature political turmoil from the characters and setting, without trying to make some sort of grand political statement about the real world.
The funny thing? Apparently no one even asked.
All. Art. Is. Inherently. Political.

Are you surprised though, Zack? They can’t even avoid [INSERT SCANDAL], their leadership clearly has no [INSERT STANDARDS].
