There wasn't much to review because, quite frankly, there wasn't much that happened.

Now THIS is a show I would want to watch.
They should have done a two-parter like they did last season. This premier was such a drag, and every other season has opened with so much more going on. Clones outsmarting clones. Clones impersonating other clones.
WHERE THE HELL IS RAY?!?!
Missed opportunity: I was really counting on Sue reappearing to great them in the White House. How was THAT not a possibility?
I'm surprised Veep got renewed because, IIRC, everyone – AVClub included – was buzzing about how season 6 would be its last. But this show hasn't really been functioning with a desired finality, really, and more Veep development is good news. Hopefully, back together as an ensemble.
Too close to home, I'll tell you that.
That cat was just so funny. But Martin, was like, you know, like… like… annoying and, like, whiney.
The MVP of the episode was clearly the kid dancing to Swish Swish. What a talent!
At that point, it was pretty obvious to me that he got high from whatever was in Bryce's blood.
I love Graham's Caleb Haas. He is so good looking.
"one of those episodes that gets better on a rewatch"
Well, it's quite obvious the bar for an A+ Who episode is already set low.
I've pointed this out since 2016. I don't think the reviewers care.
I don't like Bill, too, but not because of your obvious sexist, homophobic and racist reasons, which existence you try to deny when it's so obvious to everyone. (Funny. Nice try.)
Easily a D- episode. Why is AVClub so forgiving towards Doctor Who? Sense8 only gets Bs all throughout and this borefest gets the same even without any adrenaline in it? C'mon, you forgiving nerds.
I don't miss Clara at all.
Why am I having this feeling that Doctor Who is now a sobriety metaphor? I mean, the Doctor's addiction to space adventures is his drug, and his withdrawal from it, with Nardole as his sober companion.
Mikey Day is welcome in my book, after that unforgettable Danny Bangs sketch. The only thing that sticks with Melissa is her spot on impersonations during the Octavia episode and said Aziz ep.
I got more laughs from the ScarJo episode than this one.
