Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, which has you recounting the story of your the Prince’s adventure as a framing device, would have some wonderfully silly moments when you died and the Prince-as-narrator would insist, “No, wait, that didn’t happen.”

I remember in Prince of Persia: The Edgyness Within, every time you died, you got a slightly different gameover screen depending on how you wiped (combat, boss, falling down an endless pit, falling down and splatting, etc). For some reason that compelled me to die in increasingly creative ways just to see them all.
Of course, I did at some point beat FTL and it felt fucking amazing.
Yeah I forget there are some snooty rich ladies on Jez until I read shitty comments like the “meth” ones. People like that are so disconnected, they should just stick to giving their opinions to their internet connected smart appliances.
Well since they make shitty hourly wages, probably don’t go to the dentist because they don’t have coverage and can’t afford it, and are also pretty tired from standing on their feet all day for their whole work life, that might be a kinder and more accurate explanation for their working class lack of beauty. But I…
Or if service-sector jobs paid as well and were as stable as the kinds of blue-collar jobs people want back.
So, I have to ask: why would someone go to a Kmart when they can shop at Target? I’ve always found Target to have better-designed products and lower prices than Kmart. And the stores are more pleasant to be in generally and don’t have that weird fluorescent lighting that gives me a headache. Also, the one near me…
Every time I hear that another swath of K Marts are closing, I worry. My hometown’s KMart (rural NY) is the only non-food store that’s standing. It’s a desperately poor area where many people’s lives are constrained by the fact that always-reliable cars are a luxury, and the KMart is a necessary walkable option.…
Are you saying the Marines are a few decades behind in technology know-how?
Semper Fi - Always Faithful...to the early 90's.
I appreciate your opinion. I realize my A or B question is oversimplifying the issue.
Atleast he is committed and is actually focused on helping his community unlike other officers who just shoot unarmed civilians just for fun.
This is excellent. I eat out alone all the time when traveling for work and it never once occurred to me that solo diners might not be looked on well by the restaurant staff. Super glad to see I was right never to worry about it.
Diners are practically built for people eating alone. You can pretend to be a cross-country truck driver, or a spy!
Thank you for this oddly comforting little piece of advice!
I’m a 20-something, and when I’m home for Christmas or whatever I love to hit up old favorites when my folks/siblings are at work. My sister thinks this is an incredibly odd and eccentric thing to do, especially at our little local diner. I say I’m a hungry…
Well the Jedi were inspired in part by samurai so between that and the Praetorian guard fight which made me think of an old samurai film fight scene, I’m not surprised. (Which I loved to bits)
Don’t get the hate. Best Star Wars movie, by far, in my eyes. Might challenge KotOR for my favorite Star Wars property ever. The best thing that ever happened to Star Wars was getting it out of Lucas’ hands.
They literally called the show “terrible” even as they praised Lockjaw. I’m pretty sure nobody at io9 is trying to make Inhumans happen.
I’m guessing that we’re in the bad place because if we were in the good place we’d be able to sort the comments by newest, oldest, and best.
You know, I liked, but didn’t love season 1 of this show. But if these first 4 episodes of season 2 are an indication of the quality to come, this show will be giving Crazy Ex Girlfriend a run for its money as my favorite comedy on TV.
