Milwaukee wouldn't pony up the $50,000,000 that Bettman declared a team was worth (way, way overvalued), another million just to be in the running for the league expansion and waffled on having an arena ready. Bettman rigged the draft so that only Seattle/Vegas got the team.

Presumably they all died in the nuclear war before the Samaritans showed up.

If the left had bothered discussing or addressing the issues with mass migration the right wouldn't have had such a monopoly on anyone who had concerns about immigration. And the left doubling down on that by declaring anyone who didn't accept it a racist caused the ones on the fence to circle the wagon whether they

It's one of those things. There's racism where you don't like someone because they're different, and then there's racism where they tortured murdered and starved a bunch of people you knew to death.

My grandpa's brother was in a Japanese POW camp in WW2 and he hated the Japanese until the day he died. You have to look at the era, the Japanese did some truly horrific things that no doubt coloured some people's outlook on their society.

His son had just died and he was a hairs breadth from killing himself, it's hard to add levity to that… Part of the reason they were using him is that he was pretty much a dead man walking. Who cares if he does on an alien world?

I have 700+ books on my bookshelf and I can count on one hand how many are written by female authors (a good chunk of those are history books and it's a pretty male heavy field so I give those a pass).

I think you could safely say pretty good, but I'd be hesitant to call any of them 'truly great'.

Longer an and Affleck go way back, I'm pretty sure they did stage work together several years ago, he knew what Affleck could do and wanted him for the role.

There was a period in time where it looked like he was going to go to court and fight the charges but it never happened. Now that the two parties have settled we'll never know exactly how it all played out.

I honest to God would have hurled that Oscar to the floor and let out a stream of profanity that would probably have ruined my hypothetical career before storming off.

I always thought that his plot thread was one of the weakest of the show, but glad to see a 4400 shout out!

My thinking was that Spotlight's win was solely due to animosity between Fury Road and The Revenant basically split the vote and Spotlight more-or-less won due to all the second place ballots it picked up from those films.

They aren't really saying it would be better at five, but the expanded category hasn't done it's job of having more worthy material that never made the cut… It's just more pap that aught to have never been nominated.

Vikander isn't even the worst offender. Stiles sounds like she's reading the script for the first time.
