I am deeply cranky about the idiocy around “not a great candidate” since I don’t want a candidate, I want a president, and she would have been stellar.

Can you imagine what a Bernie canpaign would have done to him? Everything Bernie Sanders objected to about Clinton is true for Joe Biden x 10. He has no self-awareness at all. And having his man of the people schtick torn apart would have killed him.
He literally said “I thought I was a great candidate.”
Not being very good and being the best choice are not mutually exclusive. I still had/have zero issues voting for her. A more or less continuation of Obama’s administration would have been greatly satisfying.
She wasn’t a great canidate. But Joe, the former Senator from Bank of America who drafted and still defends the 1994 Crime Bill, thinks he would have been a better one. Which is absurd.
It makes me want to cry that our female candidate knew she had to practice not being physically intimidated by her opposition.
One is hardly surprised by this. Erdogan is a monster who has successfully converted a proto-democracy into a fascist state. No wonder Trump adores him. No wonder his goons feel entitled to attack peaceful protesters on the streets in DC.
And our current President is not only fine with it, but is asking our law enforcement agencies how he too can crack down on protesters and lock up journalists.
This is an outrage. Where the fuck is our government? Oh yeah, praising Erdogan.
It infuriates me that they’re trying to bring that repressive shit here ON. OUR. SOIL.
Witnesses say Erdogan’s bodyguards attacked protesters carrying the Kurdish PYD flag outside the Turkish ambassador’s D.C. residence.
“I have the best thugs.”
I mean, we found out he was asking the director of the FBI to put journalists in jail, so...
And this is the fucker who keeps calling Angela Merkel a Nazi. Goddamned Erdogan. I simply cannot understand why Americans seem to think of him as a neutral figure, much less someone to be congratulated by the president for his successful repressive regime.
I’ll bet you Donald is talking with the director of the Secret Service to see if he can do that too.
I’ve seen this one before, but it was good for another watch today. It never ceases to amaze me how Sen. Pastore started out being really blunt in the conversation and five minutes later he was completely turned around. Mister Rogers didn’t need to win, or score points, all he had to do was use his words in a civil…
anybody that’s seen this will spam it, but if you are ever ignorant enough that you want the government to cut programs like this, please watch Mr. Rogers defend his wonderful show years ago against budget cuts and unshrivel your terrible heart
I’d imagine it involves the daughters espousing liberal viewpoints and then either A) Allen’s character making snide “jokes” at their expense, or B) eventually some sort of plot resolution that shows the daughters why they’re wrong and/or some reason why both sides have a point.
“We can love that McCullough won and hate the answers that got her there. We can be happy to see her take that walk as Miss USA and be outraged that someone with her politics will now have a magnified platform.
