Rarely are things "classy" in advertising. This is advertising at it's basic level. Tout a feature that your competition doesn't have. This feature is a rather large one that most potential customers can understand.

The money isn't for a ship, it's to back the game. Take the ships away and a lot of the incentive to back the game is gone.

Is it the PC elitist that is at fault? I'm putting my money on Microsoft. They pushed their weak consoles, gimped DX11... then there's Windows. The "PC Master Race" have kept PC's alive.

PS4/Xbox One are too weak. Period. Just not enough GPU power for a game like this.
