Almost nothing in this movie is original, other than the animation, which is amazingly detailed and beautifully grotesque. The story is a pastiche of Chinatown, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, every western ever made, and the fairy tale "The Shoemaker and the flies," but it's so well done.
