For me, it’s not about leniency, or kindness, but the simple fact that mistakes get made, and it’s often in those especially heinous crimes where emotions are running high that they happen.  It’s good to have the option to correct your errors.

I actually don’t have a problem with the concept of capital punishment in the most severe cases. (I know: “Bad liberal! Bad!!”) Some crimes are so heinous, I think it is warranted.

Yeah, it’s not about saving the baby. It’s about controlling vaginas. Otherwise they would be for sex education and free birth control to limit unwanted pregnancies.

So it is NOT okay to stop a life before it is viable yet once they are a living, breathing, self-sustaining individual then they are ok to kill?

Oh, heavens, no. They have no interest in saving any baby; there are no free prenatal screens nor vitamins. No free check-ups for children nor dental care. No care as to whether babies or children are hungry at night. No interest as to whether unwanted pregnancies will culminate in a safe home.

My first thought was that it was orchestrated as a ploy to get him a nicer stay - “Your honor, this man isn’t safe in jail... I recommend house arrest...”
