That is so sad for that little girl, but your daughter is lucky to have a mom that encourages her passions, whatever they may be. I’m an entomologist, and I remember hearing from people (as a 20 year old) that bugs are for boys. I’m eternally grateful to my parents who let me play in the dirt when I was a kiddo. 

When people asked the gender of our babies, we’d say we were waiting for them to tell us.

I found out the genetic sex of my kids before they were born, because I’m just a curious person and can’t stand to not know something if I have the option to know it. I would have found out their hair and eyes colors too if I could have. But their genetic sex was about as relevant to the planning process as their hair…

I decorated my baby girl’s room with a whale and underwater theme, and my idiot coworker said that whales are for boys.

The good news is Bean doesn’t care whether he wins or loses. Bean in it for the attention, the treats, and any extra belly rubs. So in that sense, Bean won big.

“Hip” churches are so fucking lame.

If your denomination does not allow gay pastors, does not have gay people on its boards of trustees, does not have gay people in its administrative leadership, and does not have people on its church committees, it is an anti-gay denomination.

TBH, he strikes me as a guy who doesn’t get a lot of things as a concept.

I suspect a mix of both. Honestly, I suspect he doesn't think that much about because they are so loving to him and it doesn't effect him. He doesn't strike me as a guy who gets structural oppression as concept.
